Now it is time to Create!
- Describe yourself to the class by picking 6-10 words or short phrases that describe you and then choose pictures that illustrate the words you’ve chosen.
- Or, choose 6-10 words or short phrases that describe something you like, or a place you've visited.
- You will then use images to create an Animoto video or a Glog collage that will be shared with the class.
Step 1: Brainstorm Words
- Create a New Document in Google Drive and title it Photo Story Words. Brainstorm 6 words or short phrases that describe you. Your list has to be approved by Mrs. Murphy before you can go on and start searching for images.
Step 2: Find Images
- Use the sites on Copyright Friendly Images and Creative Commons to find and save pictures that illustrate the words you've chosen.
- Make a folder on your desktop and place your pictures in the folder.
Step 3: Create Using Animoto
- Be sure you have previewed the videos above before you begin.
- Get your Animoto username and password from Mrs. Murphy.
- Log into Animoto
- Your video should include at least 8 slides, possibly more.
- Slide 1 - Title Slide. This should include your first name and a creative title for the video. (Maybe use your All About me Wordle for the title slide).
- Slides 2 - 7 - each slide should include one of the six words or short phrases that describe you.
- Slide 8 - Closing Slide (closing thought, summation, sign-off, etc.) & Credits title (include source for music-which will be Animoto, photos)
OR
Create Using Glogster
- Watch this video to refresh your memory about how to use Glogster
- Get your Glogster username and password from Mrs. Murphy.
- Log into Glogster
- Your collage should incorporate at least 6-10 images and text that describe your topic.
- Use your imagination and be creative.
- Skip Step 4 and go to Step 5
Step 4: Add pictures and music. Music needs to be taken from Animoto.
- Projects should be at least 30 seconds but not longer than 2 minutes.
- Pictures should be reflect the words you selected to describe yourself.
- Important: Animoto matches the pictures to the music. Fewer pictures with a longer piece of music means the pictures will cycle slower and the video will end when the pictures run out even if there is more music left in the selection. More pictures will cycle faster and will tend to use the entire music selection to its end
Step 5: Share
- Be prepared to share your video or glog on Google classroom and in class
- Be prepared to offer comments/suggestions on classmates videos.
